About The Author

Suzanne Cassidy Nason began pursuing a communications degree at the University of Southern Maine back in 1980.

Since then, she has worked in many different professions, including sales, banking, and the hospitality industry.  She spent 7 years as a radio dj, introducing the Acoustic Sunrise Program on 98.9 WCLZ in Portland, Maine, where she was fortunate to play the “Quality Mix and True Variety” that she loved!!  Music remains a huge part of her life. In fact, each character in her series is introduced by an excerpt from one of her favorite songs by artists such as the Cowboy Junkies, Beth Orton, and Lucinda Williams.  Music also plays a huge part in her movie, Ty, as she was granted permission by some of these artists to use their music in her film!

Aside from writing, Suzanne also enjoyes cooking, entertaining, and the great outdoors, and also makes and sells unique American Girl Doll Clothes.  (Please see tabs above to view some of her selection!)

Suzanne landed the best job of her career in 2020, just as the Pandemic hit.  She accepted the new position of Customer Experience Officer for Saco and Biddeford Savings.  She works with a great team of professionals in the Loan Department, and will be here until she retires!

The icing on the cake of her life would be for her to be a published author, with her Portals series having a positive impact and an ability to change peoples’ lives (and their deaths, for that matter!)  She is not one to give up easily, and figures that every time she hears “no thanks” she is getting closer to the publisher that says “yes!!”

Our Business

Suzanne set up Cassidy Press in 2004 to publish Portals.  The movie Ty was produced by Crossroads in 2005.  Reza was  added to the Portals line-up in 2010.

The History of Portals

Suzanne self-published Portals back in 2004.  She produced Ty, the movie based on one of the characters, in 2005.  She self-published Reza in 2010.  In February of 2018 she combined Reza into one edition with the other 5 characters of Portals and is submitting her story to the Independant Publisher Book Awards, where she hopes to win an IPPY!
